How to Create a New Location in WMS

In this video, let's learn how to create a new location in WMS. Follow the steps below:

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Head to your Xero dashboard.

2. Click on the Contacts tab in the navigation bar.

3. Ensure that a group named Datapel Suppliers already exists. If it doesn't, create the group first.

4. Select All Contacts. Here you can see a list of all your contacts that already exist in Xero.

5. Click on the New Contact button in the top right corner to create a new contact.

6. Enter the name of the warehouse in the Contact Name field.

7. Enter the warehouse code in the Account Number field.

8. For easier identification, it is best practice to have your warehouse name start with LOC.

9. Enter datapel.location in the Last Name field. This helps Datapel identify that this contact is a location.

10. Enter the address of the warehouse.

11. Click on Save and Close to finish creating the contact in Xero.

12. Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the contact's profile to open the Options menu.

13. Select Manage Groups.

14. Select the Datapel Suppliers checkbox.

15. Click Apply.

16. Head back to WMS.

17. Navigate to the Tools menu in the navigation bar and select Connect.

18. Click on Replicate from Accounting.

19. Click on the Express button to update records quickly.

20. Click on the Replicate button to update records quickly.

21. Once the replication process is complete, you can use the Locations drop-down from the left panel to see the newly created warehouse.
